After taking a break for the Christmas holidays, I’m back in the saddle writing again. But I have to share something that’s just wonderful to me.
My beta readers have been slowly following along, making great suggestions.
And they’ve also been working through some of the exercises, having brainwaves, and messaging me several times a week.
Each of them are kicking around new projects, thinking bigger, and thinking collaboratively.
I can directly see the impact of some of my chapters on their work. It’s supremely satisfying. My sense is that what’s in these chapters feels obvious and doable to them.
We’ll hop on calls to brainstorm their marketing project ideas, and they’ll tell me how the idea, or my suggestions, maps onto what they just read in Rebel Dreams.
This is exactly the kind of energy I hoped this book would bring people.
No need to wait for things. Just start trying something. Get a little focus, and run it by a friend. I’d be stoked if you run it by me. I’m always willing to pay it forward and help people get clarity.
As of today, the word count has officially passed the 53,000 mark.
I know that quality is better than quantity. But it’s extremely satisfying to work through each section of the DREAMS process and realize that a ton of introspection and thought has gone into each one.
Each chapter ends with a simple call to action so that it’s easy to keep jotting notes about what inspires you.
Based on feedback, I took my personal story and broke it into five pieces, and placed them throughout the book. I was genuinely surprised to see how well it matched up with each letter in the DREAMS acronym.
So far, I’m on target for my January 16 deadline, so fingers crossed that all goes well!
A personal holiday update:
I binge-watched ‘The Recruit,’ ‘Tulsa King’, and ‘Mayor of Kingstown,’ and am halfway through the Bhagavad Gita.
How were your holidays? Get up to anything interesting?
