Let's document this journey!
Here goes my first shot at sharing everything that happens as I write this book, launch a community, and create a coaching business.
RebelDreams started as a book idea. A plan to finally, after 4 years, turn my 6-step process into a course and a workshop. But something always held me back. I couldn’t understand why.
Now it’s clearer. And my goal is to stay one step ahead of my own procrastination… so I’m grabbing the bull by the horns, and sharing my progress with you.
First, let me share with you the blurb. If it doesn’t sound like you, have an amazing rest of your day.
If it does, then drop a comment or an emoji - because I want to meet you.
A fellowship of quiet extroverts struggle in their jobs and their lives, wishing they could break free and create meaningful work. Maybe it’s college students or young adults who want to work from home, or launch a side project to start changing lives. Our vision, dreams, and leadership can bring incredible freedom and energy to friends, fans, and followers.
But we’re held back. We feel constantly misunderstood. Their advice doesn’t apply. We’re told we’re not focused enough, not disciplined enough, and not good enough. For most of us, that’s not what we need to hear. We need to break free, and begin from our own core, our own deep genius for creativity.
Sick of get-rich-quick schemes, narcissistic influencers, and reducing fans to likes, Dominic is a quiet extrovert, storyteller, and marketer. Constantly under pressure to perform and create, he struggled to navigate chronic burnout, until the day he realized that he wasn’t the problem. He’d accepted a work system that doesn’t resonate with him.
Rebel Dreams is more than a field-tested process that’s brought him purpose, meaning, and happiness. It’s his own story for starting from nothing, shouldering responsibility, and striving to put human thriving first. Get more than his step-by-step path to launch a brand, start a community, create marketing that feels right, and partnering with collaborators. Get the freedom to come home to yourself, and your own dramatic call to lead.
Real leadership comes from real service. And the best leaders are the champions in the trenches, leading from the front lines, serving their community with fellowship, innovation, and rebel dreams.
The plan was to finish the book, and then repurpose it into a couple of different things - like a course, and a workshop. Even a podcast.
I’m packing it with everything that’s risen to the top after 10 years on this journey into branding and marketing - something every small business and entrepreneur loves to hate.
But now I’m realizing that it’s better for me to follow my own path. As I work through each chapter, I plan to release it here on this substack so that we can write it together. Your ideas and feedback are the only way that this book will be truly helpful, and not just a catalog of my paragraphs.
At the same time, I’ve always wanted to document the journey. To share what’s going on with the actual blow-by-blow setup of things, and what I physically and mentally do to start something.
So I’m writing down the procedures and the theory in the book.
And I plan to document how I’m following it all myself from scratch, with a new project.
Every new project teaches me a ton. And while I didn’t realize it for years, I was busy teaching myself how to build and grow communities, without a budget or any authority.
Some of the communities stalled out. Some are in a holding pattern. Some are showing signs of growth. All of them followed the outline in my book, one way or another. I walked into most of them backwards, not really seeing my own process.
RebelDreams is a shot at walking into this more awake.
And the first step, is just to begin.
